    Drive exceptional growth for our publishing catalog through strategic leadership of our digital marketplace advertising and online retail presence. You'll spearhead our e-commerce strategy, optimizing targeted advertising campaigns and maximizing performance across key online marketplaces. We seek a competitive, results-oriented professional who excels at search advertising and keyword strategy development. As our digital retail ecosystem expert, you'll leverage data-driven insights to optimize metadata, refine search strategies, and establish measurement frameworks that drive business decisions. Reporting to the Senior Marketing Director, Performance & Operations, you'll transform how readers discover Zondervan Bibles and Academic & Reflective books in digital marketplaces.

     

    This is a hybrid position based out of our Grand Rapids, MI or Nashville, TN offices.

    Responsibilities

    + Own and optimize the marketplace advertising strategy, including sponsored product listings and brand visibility campaigns

    + Take full ownership of brand store development, optimization, and performance on major retail platforms

    + Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance product detail pages with compelling content and optimized metadata

    + Master and continuously refine advanced keyword development strategies to maximize search visibility and conversion

    + Demonstrate exceptional competitive analysis to identify and capitalize on marketplace opportunities

    + Establish and monitor key performance metrics for all digital marketplace advertising initiatives, including advertising cost of sale, return on ad spend, and conversion rates

    + Design and execute A/B tests for ad copy, targeting parameters, and bidding strategies to continuously improve campaign performance

    + Collaborate with metadata specialists to ensure optimal product listings, enhanced content, and SEO-friendly descriptions

    + Analyze online retail trends and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities and strategic advantages

    + Produce detailed weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reports with actionable insights and strategic recommendations

    + Partner with product marketing teams to align marketplace strategies with broader marketing objectives

    + Manage advertising budgets efficiently to maximize impact while controlling costs

    + Stay current with marketplace algorithm changes, retail policies, and emerging e-commerce opportunities

    Qualifications

    Work Experience:

    + 7-8 years of marketing experience with preference for at least 3 years directly managing digital marketplace advertising campaigns

    + Proven track record of driving e-commerce growth through data-driven optimization strategies

    + Experience with leading online retail advertising platforms, analytics dashboards, and advertising management tools

    + Demonstrated success in designing and optimizing brand stores and product detail pages

    + Background in digital marketing with emphasis on search marketing, metadata optimization, and conversion strategies

    + Publishing industry experience preferred, particularly with book metadata standards and e-commerce dynamics

    Education:

    + Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Digital Media, or related field to role

    + Relevant certifications in Amazon Advertising, Search Marketing, or E-commerce a plus

    Knowledge:

    + Expert understanding of major online retail advertising ecosystems, including ad types, ranking factors, and optimization techniques

    + Advanced knowledge of search advertising principles and competitive keyword strategy development

    + In-depth knowledge of e-commerce metrics, attribution models, and analytics platforms

    + Strong grasp of SEO principles, metadata standards, and content optimization best practices

    + Understanding of audience segmentation, targeting strategies, and digital consumer behavior

    Industry Knowledge:

    + Familiarity with the publishing industry's unique e-commerce challenges and opportunities

    + Understanding of Christian theology and contemporary practice

    + Knowledge of markets for Bibles, academic, and reflective resources, including customer segments and purchase journeys

    Skills:

    + Advanced data analysis capabilities with ability to translate metrics into actionable insights

    + Strategic thinking balanced with tactical execution and attention to detail

    + Strong visual merchandising sense for creating compelling brand stores and product presentations

    + Proficiency with marketplace advertising platforms, analytics dashboards, and reporting tools

    + Excellent project management abilities to handle multiple campaigns simultaneously

    + Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting complex data to diverse stakeholders

    + Agile problem-solving approach with ability to adapt to platform changes and market shifts
