    Field Service Engineer – Medical Devices

     

    Raleigh, NC | Travel Required | Full-Time

    About the Role

    We're seeking a Field Service Engineer who thrives in a hands-on technical environment and is passionate about ensuring the quality, safety, and performance of cutting-edge medical devices. In this dynamic position, you’ll play a critical role in preparing, testing, and supporting medical systems prior to delivery, collaborating closely with technical and logistics teams across the globe.

     

    You’ll serve as the front line for integration, installation, calibration, and support—ensuring healthcare professionals receive reliable, high-performance devices that ultimately impact patient care.

     

    What You’ll Do

    Device Preparation & Quality Control

    + Perform quality checks, calibration, and integration of medical devices and accessories.

    + Update software and licenses based on order specifications.

    + Troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software issues when necessary.

    + Ensure all work complies with company procedures and medical device regulations.

    Technical & Operational Support

    + Support logistics processes including shipments and returns.

    + Maintain, calibrate, and validate test equipment as required.

    + Document technical activities and maintain accuracy in our ERP system.

    + Recommend improvements to testing protocols, processes, and documentation.

    Training & Compliance

    + Complete technical and logistical training to ensure readiness for field support.

    + Adhere to safety, regulatory, and operational guidelines at all times.

    + Provide timely communication to internal teams regarding any technical or logistical issues.

    Who You Are

    + Technically inclined with an interest in biomedical, mechanical, or electronic systems.

    + Hands-on problem solver who’s comfortable working independently and managing multiple tasks.

    + Detail-oriented with a drive to uphold quality standards and regulatory compliance.

    + Strong communicator who can confidently work with both internal teams and healthcare clients.

    Qualifications

    + High school diploma or GED required; technical training or college degree preferred.

    + 2+ years of experience in a regulated environment (e.g., ISO 13485 or FDA QSR).

    + Working knowledge of hardware/software troubleshooting, computer systems, and networking.

    + Familiarity with Microsoft Office and ERP systems.

    + Valid Driver’s License and Passport required.

    + Ability to pass a drug screening (routine and/or random).

    + Willingness to travel within the U.S. and internationally as needed.

    Physical Requirements

    + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks including standing, bending, and walking.

    + Use of dollies or other tools for heavy equipment is supported.

    + Work is conducted in controlled environments with moderate noise levels.
