    JOB SUMMARY: Under the general direction of the Director of Communications and the Executive Editor, the Associate Editor assists in the coordination of writing and editing functions required in production of print and digital union publications, assists in electronic media communications with CSEA members. Starting Salary is $75,123ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:1. Assists with the writing, editing and design of the Workforce.2. Develop, research, write, edit and coordinate publication materials, including photographs provided by field communications staff, other CSEA departments and outside services.3. Works with field communications staff to support the production of CSEA publications.4. Photographs subjects for publications.5. Helps manage the website content, including planning and coordinating contributions from all field communications staff, headquarters and field departments and other sources, and tracking and overseeing timely updates by contributors.6. Works with Digital Content Coordinator on writing and editing content for promotion on CSEA’s digital channels.7. Works with Graphic Production Specialist on concepts for visual design and layout of pages.8. Supports information publication via the Internet.9. Assists local and units with development of digital resources and print publications.10. Performs other related duties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:A bachelor’s degree in journalism, communication, or a related field and one-year professional journalism experience with digital publishing.ORFour years of professional journalism experience, including digital publishing.ORAn acceptable combination of education, training and experience as determined by CSEA.Spanish language proficiency preferred, not required.
