Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has an opening for a Staff Electronic Warfare (EW) System Test Product Owner to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals at our Linthicum/Baltimore, MD campus. As the lead developer of RF sensors for some of the most advanced systems in the U.S. arsenal, Northrop Grumman is a world leader in advanced sensor systems and design. These include radars for air dominance platforms (such as the F-22, F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, F-16), bomber and strike programs (such as B-1B), airborne / maritime / ground-based surveillance missions (E-3 AWACS, E-7 MESA, TPS-80 G/ATOR, SEWIP Block 3 and UAV systems such as Global Hawk), as well as restricted programs and missions. Northrop Grumman’s Airborne Multifunction Systems (AMS) organization has a need for an EW- System Test Product Owner supporting the integration and verification of the most advanced EW system ever deployed on a Naval platform. Daily activities may consist of leveraging your vast expertise in complex RF systems to troubleshoot system-level bugs on the I&T benches and in the field, collaborating with a talented engineering team to analyze RF data at the I/Q level, supporting technical development through mentorship and coaching, and providing technical leadership as the Product Owner of an Agile process.

This position requires **up to** **100% on-site work in the Linthicum/Baltimore, Maryland** campus and an active interim/final **Secret** clearance. **Occasional travel is required, up to 25%,** to the remote field test site in Wallops Island, VA.
Roles and Responsibilities
The selected Staff EW Engineer will support the Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program (SEWIP) as the Product Owner for the System Test team. The team is responsible for executing system-level testing, data analysis, and troubleshooting related to system stability, characterization and performance supporting periodic software deliveries and major milestone events.
Essential Functions:
+ Execute tasks in the Agile framework, creating stories and delegating tasks.
+ Lead an engineering team of approx. 8-10 engineers with test planning and execution, data analysis, and system troubleshooting.
+ Oversee and contribute to the innovation and development of tools for the analysis and visualization of data, enhancing and expediting the identification of bugs and trends.
+ Oversee the analysis of data obtained from the field and bench tests.
+ Direct the troubleshooting of system issues found in the data, determining and executing the course of action across multi-disciplinary teams.
+ Mentor the team on topics pertaining to Electronic Warfare (EW) system operation (Electronic Support and Electronic Attack), and application of the Systems Engineering process.
+ Provide expert advice to program management, technical leadership, and the Navy customer through briefs and technical interchanges.

As a Staff Engineer on the System Test team, you will be expected to demonstrate the following behaviors:

Basic Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 12 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree and 10 years of related experience, or 7 years of experience with a PhD; an additional 4 years of experience is allowed in lieu of a degree.
+ 6+ years of experience developing and/or integrating Electronic Warfare (EW) or Radar systems.
+ 3+ years of experience developing, coordinating, executing, and leading/directing tests assessing the performance of EW or Radar systems in the lab and in the field.
+ 3+ years of experience using the MATLAB programming language to analyze Radio Frequency (RF) test data at the I/Q level.
+ Experience with Digital Signal Processing and algorithm development.
+ Experience executing the Agile process in an I&T and/or SW development environment.
+ Systems Baselining experience as a major contributor.
+ Proficiency in troubleshooting system defects, and the ability to develop and drive solutions utilizing advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts.
+ Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities to overcome obstacles and advance technical and program objectives.
+ Demonstrated ability to develop and present compelling reports that summarize analytical findings to the customer and program leadership, making a significant impact on program success.
+ Willingness and ability to work up to 100% onsite within a closed area at the Baltimore/Linthicum campus.
+ Willingness and ability to work up to 25% remotely at the field test site in Wallops Island, VA.
+ US Citizenship required.
+ Active Secret clearance required prior to start.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Previous Electronic Warfare experience as a Product Owner on an Integration and Test (I&T) or SW development program
+ Expert knowledge of the Electronic Warfare kill chain including threat acquisition, tracking, identification/classification, engagement, and warfighter interaction.
+ Proficiency using C++, Python, and Interactive Data Language (IDL).
* This position is contingent upon the ability to obtain/maintain DoD Secret Clearance prior to starting.

Salary Range: $163,200.00 - $244,800.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
