Description
Our client is in need of a dedicated Medical Records Technician to join their team in San Antonio, Texas. The ideal candidate will play a vital part in maintaining and managing medical records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing exceptional support to both staff and patients. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a detail-oriented mindset and a commitment to confidentiality and quality in healthcare documentation.
Responsibilities:
• Organize and maintain patient records, including setting up new patient profiles in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
• Release protected health information in adherence to federal and state regulations while ensuring patient confidentiality.
• Monitor medical records systems and applications to proactively identify and address data integrity or availability issues.
• Provide support to staff with medical chart management and resolve related issues as needed.
• Offer guidance and respond to inquiries from staff and patients regarding medical records.
• Deliver exceptional customer service by fostering strong interdepartmental relationships and partnerships.
• Conduct periodic audits and reviews of medical charts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Assist in the preparation and control of documentation for clinical trials and other medical operations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, contributing to the overall efficiency of the department.
Requirements • Proficiency in using EMR systems such as Allscripts, Cerner Technologies, or AHLTA.
• Strong knowledge of compliance standards related to medical records and protected health information.
• Experience with tools such as Adobe Acrobat and 3M for document management.
• Ability to create and interpret charts, graphs, and other data visualizations.
• Skilled in auditing and ensuring the accuracy of medical documentation.
• Excellent communication skills, including experience handling inbound calls and resolving inquiries.
• Familiarity with clinical trial operations and related documentation processes.
