    Description

    We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Belmont, CA (onsite position). This role is ideal for an experienced and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in residential property management and the ability to handle multiple portfolios. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to month-end closings, cash management, and asset oversight while leveraging your expertise in real estate accounting systems.     Duration: 1-2 Months

    Responsibilities:

    • Oversee the accounting functions for a portfolio of commercial properties.

    • Perform month-end closings, including reviewing financial reports and reconciliations.

    • Manage cash flow operations, including accruals and distributions such as cash and property.

    • Track and maintain fixed assets with a basic understanding of straight-line depreciation.

    • Utilize real estate accounting platforms such as RealPage, Yardi, or MRI to manage financial data.

    • Conduct balance sheet and bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.

    • Prepare general ledger entries and ensure proper journal adjustments.

    • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to provide clear financial insights and updates.

    • Analyze financial data to support decision-making and ensure compliance with industry standards.

    • Maintain a high volume of transactions with precision and efficiency.

     

    Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably within residential property management.

     

    • Proficiency in real estate accounting systems such as RealPage, Yardi, or MRI.

    • Strong knowledge of month-end closing processes and general ledger reconciliations.

    • Experience in managing cash flow operations, including accruals and distributions.

    • Familiarity with fixed asset management and depreciation methods.

    • Advanced Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting.

    • Effective communication skills to interact with clients and team members.

    • Ability to think strategically while managing detailed accounting tasks.
