Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join our team in Worcester, Massachusetts. This role involves handling diverse billing functions, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining compliance with contractual terms. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and bring expertise in construction-related billing processes.

Responsibilities:

• Compile and review work orders, material reports, vendor invoices, and other cost documentation to prepare accurate and timely billing.

• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, accounts payable staff, and vendors to ensure all billable items are accounted for.

• Verify and finalize billed work, addressing any discrepancies or issues with invoices.

• Enter cost codes and other relevant data into the company’s billing system with precision.

• Maintain effective communication with project managers and customers’ accounts payable departments to ensure seamless billing processes.

• Monitor adherence to billing procedures and report recurring violations by operations personnel.

• Assist with accounts receivable tasks and collections as necessary.

• Promote and adhere to company safety policies and uphold the company code of conduct.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree plus 2+ years of relevant experience, or 4+ years of construction industry experience without a degree.

• Familiarity with construction industry practices, including working with project managers and understanding the relationship between accounts payable, payroll, and construction projects.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to manipulate data effectively.

• Experience with billing and accounts receivable processes, including handling aging accounts and collections.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to manage shifting priorities in a dynamic environment.

• Tech-savvy with experience in ERP systems or the ability to quickly learn new software.

• Knowledge of AIA billing and construction accounting workflows.
