Description
We are looking for an experienced Payroll Tax Lead to oversee and manage payroll tax functions within our organization. Based in Irving, Texas, this role is vital for ensuring compliance with payroll tax regulations and providing mentorship to team members. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in payroll tax systems, operational improvement, and team leadership.
Responsibilities:
• Manage payroll tax processes, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to team members to enhance their skills and ensure operational efficiency.
• Address and resolve payroll tax-related issues in a timely and accurate manner.
• Collaborate with internal teams during mergers and acquisitions to ensure smooth payroll tax integration.
• Oversee the use of payroll systems such as ADP Vantage/Smart Compliance.
• Prepare and review payroll tax reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Conduct audits to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
• Assist with benefits administration tasks, including 401(k) and RRSP management.
• Develop and maintain policies and procedures to streamline payroll tax processes.
• Stay updated on changes in tax regulations and implement necessary adjustments.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. (required)
• At least 7 years of experience in payroll tax management.
• Proficiency in payroll systems such as ADP (open on different versions)
• Strong knowledge of accounting functions and federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Experience with auditing and benefit administration, including 401(k) and RRSP plans.
• Skilled in using reporting tools like Crystal Reports to analyze and present payroll data.
• Proven ability to mentor and develop team members.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
