    Job Overview

     

    We are seeking a Project Engineer I for our Iron Mountain, MI site that will be responsible for providing technical guidance to engineering, design, project management, and manufacturing teams with a focus on electrical design.

     

    A Day In The Life

    + Control the Bill of Material and verify accuracy and compliance with customer specifications

    + Create and verify QC Documents

    + Coordinate project requirements with CAD Designer and Technician

    + Resolve technical issues in manufacturing

    + Create Wire Diagrams and House Wire Schematics

    + Interpret and understand internal and external customer specifications

    + Have a knowledge of circuits, electrical components, and their related functionality.

    + Review of Mechanical Drawings for quality and compliance with requirements

    + Coordinate with the Compliance Team and Product Design Team for projects, as required

    + Review buildings for NEC code compliance, as required.

    + Create component Bill of Materials and Cable Schedules

    + Work safely in and around energized electrical enclosures.

    + Coordinate design change implementation

    + Work with Project Manager to support projects

    + Customer visits (travel approximately 10% of the time)

     

    What will help you thrive in this role?

     

    + Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering related field or Associate Degree with equivalent experience working in Utilities

    + Utility Systems Certificate would be helpful

    + Minimum of one to three years of experience in related engineering, co-op or internship role; Or minimum of five years of experience working on a Systems Control project management team

    + Knowledge and understanding of the company’s product offering and customer needs

    + Basic understanding of AC and DC circuits

    + Skill at reading schematics and wiring diagrams

    + Advanced working knowledge of MS Office Suite

    + Strong attention to detail

    + Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

    + Proven analytical & problem-solving skills
