    Signature Aviation seeks a **Director of Corporate and Digital Communications** , who will be responsible for developing and executing strategic communication plans to enhance Signature Aviation’s reputation, increase visibility, and drive engagement in alignment with the company’s strategic initiatives. This role requires a proactive individual with exceptional communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills to establish strong connections with key stakeholders. This includes shaping how Signature tells its story and where, as well as owning internal and external messaging and working with cross-functional teams, as this role is also responsible for evaluating opportunities, driving communications strategies from start to finish, and preparing content for internal audiences.

     

    Reporting to the Global Head of Corporate Affairs, the Director of Corporate and Digital Communications will directly support the COO, leading our Operations organization, as well as other executive leaders, to ensure all messaging that goes to our frontline team members reflects our corporate values. This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing internal communications that connect leaders and their teams to the overall business strategy and help cultivate the best team member experience. As a key advisor, the Director will also help shape and execute the communications strategy to drive the vision and strategy of our Executive Leadership Team (ELT) while supporting our corporate culture centered around Signature’s values. The Director should be knowledgeable in providing communications counsel that is backed by metrics and feedback, comfortable and well-versed in speaking to leadership teams, and a partner to fellow HR team members, departmental leaders, and other stakeholders to drive communications efforts externally and internally most effectively.

    Communications Strategy & Implementation

    + In partnership with the Global Head of Corporate Affairs and the Senior Director of Community Impact, develop Signature’s external and internal communications strategies, plans, and tactics, implementing integrated and multi-channel communications for optimal reach to team members and stakeholders.

    + Contribute to communications analytics and adapt strategies and tactics as needed.

    + Manage the development and editing of all written materials:

    + Create compelling content, including news releases, speeches, blogs, presentations, scripts, videos, position statements, and other communication materials.

    + Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging across all platforms.

    + Monitor trends to create timely and relevant content that resonates with target audiences.

    + Manage the distribution of content on appropriate channels.

    + Maintain and manage an editorial/content calendar to ensure a regular pipeline of coordinated content and activities, and elevate priority issues.

    + Develop processes to ensure coordination across teams and clarity of roles and responsibilities.

    Organizational Voice and Executive Communications

    + Position Signature Aviation as an employer of choice and as one of the best corporate cultures in the hospitality industry.

    + Lead and deliver executive and internal communications, specifically for the CEO and COO, and possibly other ELT members.

    + Identify and create opportunities for the ELT across the organization to elevate and cascade priority issues with team members and stakeholders.

    + Recommend which external opportunities (e.g., media, public comments) are worth pursuing for the ELT.

    + Lead change management communications in support of the business and strategic initiatives.

    + Serve as internal communications lead, providing proactive and reactive communications counsel to stakeholders across the organization on communicating business strategy, elevating leadership profiles, managing issues, and implementing corporate initiatives.

    Coordination and Collaboration Across Departments

    + Facilitate collaboration and coordination across the functional departments of Corporate Affairs.

    + Work closely with the other Corporate Affairs teams to develop analytic reports, corporate briefs, and presentations, translating complex information into understandable messages and language for lay audiences.

    + Identify opportunities with multi-disciplinary teams to elevate the work of the ELT and Community Impact through storytelling, media outreach, social media, and photo/video projects.

    + Collaborate with the Chief People Officer, the Global Head of Corporate Affairs, and/or the COO to develop materials needed for quarterly Board of Directors meetings.

    + Provide guidance and support to cross-departmental teams on best practices for communications and storytelling.

    Crisis & Issues Management

    + Support crisis communication efforts and develop strategies to manage and mitigate potential reputational risks.

    + Serve as issues management lead for reputational and media issues concerning the company.

    + Contribute to briefings and preparation of safety and security simulations and issues.

    + Ensure all external communications during a crisis are clear, consistent, and align with Signature’s crisis management plan.

    + Serve as one of the three corporate affairs representatives on the Emergency Command Center.

    Media Relations and Social Media

    + Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, and influencers in the private and general aviation and hospitality sectors.

    + Serve as one point of contact for media inquiries and manage media responses accordingly.

    + In partnership with the Global Head of Corporate Affairs and Senior Director of Community Impact, develop and execute Signature’s corporate content strategy, including identifying key channels (e.g., LinkedIn) and working with internal and external partners on content ideation and development that highlight the ELT and corporate values.

    + Stay abreast of the media landscape and key contacts to allow for regular earned media for Signature’s efforts in Community Impact.

    + Proactively seek and pitch media on corporate-specific and Community Impact opportunities.

    + Work with leaders across teams to develop compelling communication materials with an eye toward media opportunities (talking points for external engagements, collateral for events, briefing documents, etc.).

    + Create and maintain a Signature communications and style guide (ex, voice and tone style guide).

    Team Leadership & Management

    + Lead, coach, motivate, and retain a dynamic team of communications professionals and evaluate their performance.

    + Ensure effective collaboration and appropriate opportunities for professional growth.

    + Develop and oversee the execution of integrated, comprehensive communications and change management tactical/action plans for operational changes within the organization.

    + Manage relationships with executives and potentially external agencies/vendors to ensure alignment with organizational strategies and objectives.

    + Manage the integration and connectivity of all internal communication channels – spearheading new and unique formats that can reach a geographically distributed, non-desk-based workforce.

    + Proactively manage various aspects of the company Intranet, including making recommendations for promoting and sharing content on the site to achieve key goals, drafting content, posting, and creating pages.

    Measurement & Reporting

    + Work with Corporate Affairs leaders to use data-driven insights to measure campaign effectiveness, improve ROI, and optimize communications efforts.

    + Deliver regular performance reports and recommend actionable improvements.

    + Evaluate performance for communications based on metrics and other leading key performance indicators; recommend refinements to communications strategies, messaging, and new feedback mechanisms, as needed, based on ongoing assessments.

    + Measure and analyze the effectiveness of ongoing communication efforts and propose updates to goals as necessary; recommend improvements for future initiatives using the learnings.

    Minimum Education and/or Experience:

    + Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.

    + 10+ years in corporate communications or PR, with 5+ years in leadership roles; agency experience preferred.

    Additional knowledge and skills:

    + Proven track record of building relationships with media, successful media relations, and securing media coverage.

    + Exceptional communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and brand tone, including visual/verbal presentation and public speaking skills.

    + Excellent storytelling and editing skills, and the ability to distill complex content into clear, concise, and engaging communications with effective visuals.

    + Experience managing issues, crisis communications, and organizational change communications.

    + Knowledge of digital communications and design.

    + Demonstrated ability to implement and manage multiple and simultaneous priorities and projects effectively without compromising quality.

    + Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle sensitive situations with tact and professionalism.

    + Decisive with sound judgment; skilled at balancing strategic thinking and decision-making with an ability to get in the weeds and be hands-on.

    + Solid management skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and mentor a diverse team.

    + Strong business acumen, executive presence, and proven track record of collaborative work with a history of cultivating trusting relationships with executive leaders.

    + Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation and growth.

    + Understanding of matrixed environments where direct control is limited and the need to influence is high.

    + Knowledge of communication analytics and performance metrics, with experience leveraging data to create and execute communications strategies, plans, programs, and events.
