    Remote Sensing GIS Analyst

    Summary:

    Serve as FAA part 107 Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) pilot and Geographic Information System (GIS) / remote sensing analyst for GRE and its member-owners. Work as a GIS data specialist in imagery including image data acquisition, processing, web services development, data / spatial analytics involving GIS and imagery data, and providing education and training on the application of imagery in GIS.

    Total Rewards:

    A typical starting range for this position is $75,000 - $103,000 + annually. We offer market competitive base pay and adjust our offer accordingly based upon the value of the candidate’s knowledge, skills and experience.     Responsibilities: Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Capture and process image data for display and analysis in GIS.

    • Develop GIS maps and mapping applications for GRE and its’ member-owners.

    • Conduct UAS operations.

    • May promote the use of UAS internally at GRE.

    • May collaborate on UAS projects and development activities with others.

    • May assist with researching, assessing, implementation and maintaining UAS technology.

    Qualifications:

    • Two-year technical GIS certificate degree or bachelor’s degree in geography or other relevant four- year degree that would include GIS curriculum preferred.

    • Must have FAA part 107 remote pilot certification or the ability to obtain in 6 months.

    • 1-3 years of experience working with imagery data and transferring it to GRE applications preferred.

    • 1-3 years of experience executing missions utilizing uncrewed aircraft systems preferred.

    • 1-3 years of experience in utility GIS applications preferred.

    • Knowledge of GIS/UAS industry best practices and regulations.

    • Demonstrated knowledge of GIS core software to support new applications.

    • Demonstrates knowledge of imagery data and its’ application in GIS.

    • Demonstrate knowledge of UAS operations and FAA Part 107 requirements.

    • Knowledge of UAS operations and data collection software solutions and integrations.

    • Demonstrated knowledge of high voltage electric systems including how they operate, and the equipment involved.

    • Demonstrated knowledge of databases and utility networks and how they are implemented in electric utilities.

    • Excellent communication skills to proactively interface with co-workers, other team members, and member-owners.

    • Skill in database design, relational database setup and configuration for GIS systems; skill in determining how GIS systems interface with other applications within utility operations.

    • Skill to effectively prioritize multiple projects including budgets and resources by utilizing strong organizational and time management skills to complete work in an efficient manner.
