    The Anatomical Sim Tech position is within the Division of Anatomy. The successful candidate with work closely with the Anatomical Gift Program Coordinator and Diener to maintain the Bioskills Center and Anatomy Lab Facilities at Albany Medical College.

    Position Requirements

    + Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with staff, students, faculty, and independent contractors.

    + Proven ability to plan, organize, and manage tasks efficiently.

    + Skilled in multitasking, adapting to changing situations, and maintaining flexibility.

    + Highly self-motivated with exceptional attention to detail.

    + Ability to lift 50 pounds; push, pull, roll 100 pounds.

    + Provide excellent customer service via all instruments of communication.

    + Ability to work collegial in a team environment.

    + Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office)

     

    Bioskills Lab

     

    + Responsible for setting up Bioskills Lab for educational and training sessions, including, but not limited to:

    + Monitoring calendar to be aware of scheduled lab sessions

    + Establish relationships with clinical staff using the Bioskills Lab, to help anticipate their needs, and have labs sessions set up as needed.

    + Provides assistance during educational courses.

    + Ensure PPE is stocked and available for lab sessions.

    + Maintain high level of lab hygiene, removing trash, soiled linen, clean floors, sinks etc.

    + Assist Anatomical Gift Program Diener with relocation of cadavers from morgue to Bioskills Lab, or to crematorium as needed.

    + Bioskills Lab will on occasion host evening and weekend training sessions. AST will need to be available to assist with these sessions.In the event of hours outside of normal business hours overtime pay will be available.

     

    Anatomy Lab

     

    + Responsible for setting up Anatomy Teaching Lab for educational programs, including, but not limited to:

    + Proactively communicating with anatomy faculty, monitoring the curriculum schedule so that appropriate instruments and supplies will be available as needed.

    + Ensure PPE is stocked and available for lab sessions.

    + Remove trash, and ensure lab is maintained with attention to detail.

    + Consult the daily check-list to ensure the teaching lab is optimal for learning.

    + Assist Anatomical Gift Program Diener with cremations, and with preparing cadavers for transfer to and from outside institutions.

     

    Anatomical Gift Program

     

    + Provide assistance to Assistant Coordinator with general office duties, including but not limited to:

    + Receiving phone calls about the Anatomical Gift Program, providing information about the program and basic procedures (enrollment), and sending out registration packets.

    + At times may be responsible for returning cremated remains to next of kin.

    + May receive notifications of death. Should be able to maintain compassionate tone, follow basic screening guidelines, and follow basic procedures.

    + Data entry of pertinent donor information (registrant and decedent), tracking donor location throughout donation lifecycle.
