    Summary of Role:

    GlobalFoundries Fab 9, the world leader in RF semiconductor manufacturing in Essex Junction, VT, is seeking a new college graduate level Manufacturing Engineer. The individual selected for this position will be part of the Manufacturing Engineering organization and will develop, test, deploy, and support equipment solutions, integrating hardware and software for new and existing robotic automation applications in a semiconductor manufacturing environment. This role requires teamwork, problem solving, curiosity, innovation and leadership. You will understand how industrial automation systems perform, scaling and applying this knowledge to a unique semiconductor manufacturing environment.

     

    Exact responsibilities will vary depending on the candidate and on the evolving requirements of this highly innovative and strategic project.

    Essential Responsibilities:

    + Support equipment integration hardware and software solutions for new and legacy factory automation systems

    + Develop, test, deploy first-of-a-kind automation technologies

    + Lead hands-on, tactical troubleshooting efforts to resolve long-term performance issues

    + Leverage new technology in robotics and automation to improve manufacturing performance and productivity

    + Design, assembly and integration of automated/robotic manufacturing cells

    + Enabling manufacturing cell readiness for future automation

    + Evaluation and improvement of existing or future automated equipment

    + Partner with operators, maintenance, and others to understand all processes and how teams and individuals are involved and impacted at each step

    + Develop and/or update specifications, procedures, and equipment to sustain improvements

    + Conduct in-depth data analysis to support decision making process and future business recommendations

    Other Responsibilities:

    + Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

    Required Qualifications:

    + Education – Graduating with Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Electrical, Robotics or related field from an accredited degree program.

    + Mechanically inclined - a hands-on team member, able to deconstruct and understand complex systems

    + Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and proven good academic standing.

    + Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)

    + Travel - Up to 10%

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Prior related internship or co-op experience.

    + Passion for robotics and/or factory automation

    + Self-motivated and able to solve problems independently and in team settings

    + Comfort working as both part of a team and/or entirely as an independent performer

    + Strong program management and communication skills, both verbal and written

    + Experience and proficiency with CAD design software (e.g. AutoCAD)

    + Knowledge of semiconductor/silicon processing

    + Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.

    + Project management skills, i.e. the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.

    + Strong written and verbal communication skills

    + Strong planning & organizational skills

    Expected Salary Range

     

    $54,200.00 - $110,300.00

     

    The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
