    Job Summary

    + Carries out manual tasks which contribute to the carrying out of the project for their professional specialty (road, pipelines, rail, etc.) in observance of the safety guidelines.

    Main Responsibilities

    + Cleaning and preparing the construction site and pavement surfaces.

    + Keep equipment and tools in good working condition.

    + Shoves asphalt and other materials.

    + Luting/raking asphalt and aggregates.

    + Set-up and take down temporary work zones efficiently..

    + Optimal traffic control in and around work zones (flagging) crafting a safe environment for traffic and onsite workers.

    + Assist in backing and dumping of tri-axles and milling machines.

    + Handling of hot liquid asphalt and various materials.

    + Remove old asphalt, concrete and other materials using a jackhammer or cut-off saw.

    + Erect and remove delineating devices such as barrels and cones.

    + Seal end joints.

    + Help fill water tanks on equipment as needed.

    + Compact material with small hand rollers and vibratory plates.

    + Perform other tasks as assigned.

    Education

    + High School Diploma/GED

    Physical Requirements

    + Required to pass a drug screening and PAT (physical abilities test).

    + Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear).

    + Frequent exposure to loud noise.

    + Regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles.

    + Valid Driver's License and excellent driving record.

    + Road Construction experience preferred.

    + Follow all DOT and company safety regulations.

    + Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE), as required.
