    Job Description

    Summary- As a Value Stream Manager, you will be coordinating the planning, coordination and control of manufacturing processes and people. You will ensure that product is produced efficiently and that the correct amount is produced at the right cost and level of quality. Focus will be on driving excellence through Continuous Improvement.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Assures policies, procedures and other documentation are followed to ensure consistent and compliant manufactured product(s).

    • Directs and leads a multi-disciplined cross- functional team.

    • Drives the implementation and practice of Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma initiatives.

    • Responsible for planning and maintaining headcount in the respective cell

    • Develops, plans, and schedules priorities to meet long-term customer requirements.

    • Serves as the primary advisor to Site Leadership on Manufacturing Systems, Capabilities, Productions Status and forecast demands of the operation.

    • Administers policies, safety, and communications within the team, holding Supervisors in charge of flow down.

    • Assesses individual team members' strengths and weaknesses with your supervisors – provides development and corrective action as required at all levels of the Manufacturing Team.

    • Leads team in analytical approaches and efforts to improve overall business performance – Safety, On-time Delivery, DPPM, Productivity, Cost savings, Process Improvement, etc.

    • Ability to lead team members to establish Root cause and corrective actions.

    • Ensure customer satisfaction and compliance from a manufacturing standpoint.

    • Supports the documentation, implementation, and maintenance of the AS9100 procedures and programs to ensure sustainability of our AS9100 Certification and continued compliance to the specified requirements.

    • Supports and contributes to LEAN efforts and the support of LEAN development of the workforce including 6S and Kaizen events to enable better process flow.

    • Must be proficient in driving line of balance recovery for all customers

    • Coordinates and leverages resources with other functions, such as maintenance, materials, scheduling, logistics and engineering, to resolve manufacturing problems and/or improve processes.

    • Clearly communicates expectations and consistently holds self and employees accountable for performance. Effectively confronts employee performance and behavioral issues.

    • Fully engages work force and drives change by empowering employees with decision-making, fostering innovation, and promoting continuous learning.

    • Supports product design organization through new product introduction phase to ensure customer manufacturing delivery times are met.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    Ability to lead a team of 2-3 supervisors, and up to 4-5 team leaders.

    Physical Demands:

    Stationary 35% / Mobility 65% (up to 25lbs alone, then with a partner/machine).

    Job Requirements

    Education and/or Experience:

    • BS/BA Degree in a Technical/Business Discipline from an accredited institution.

    • Minimum of Four Years Leadership experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

    Knowledge/Skills:

    • Demonstrated Teamwork and Teambuilding experience.

    • Strong Interpersonal Skills – Verbal and Written Communication Skills.

    • Proven Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Analytical Problem solving.

    • Capable of assessing and developing individual & team skills and capabilities.

    • Demonstrated Ability to successfully lead and improve a production Team and all associated deliveries.

    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Office and Word – strong ability to build Line of Balances for customers.

    • SAP Experience

    • Capable of assessing and developing individual & team skills and competencies.

    • Demonstrated teamwork and teambuilding experience.

    • Proven Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and analytical problem solving.

    • Technical aptitude – to understand drawings to challenge manufacturability with engineering teams.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 5 years experience in an aerospace or non aerospace build to print – manufacturing environment

    • Advanced lean / Six Sigma experience (Black Belt).

    • 3-5 years SAP experience.

    • 1-2 years SIOP experience.

    • Ability to flow down and sustain manufacturing processes per AS9100 standards.

    • 3-5 years' experience in Contracts and Negotiations.
