• Configuration Management Specialist

    EchoStar (Germantown, MD)


    EchoStar** has an exciting opportunity for a **Configuration Management Specialist** in our **Hughes** Network Systems division. This position sits within our Hardware Engineering team and will review, archive, and maintain hardware engineering documentation and bills of material for advanced Satellite Communication Products. This position will be located at our headquarters in **Germantown, MD.

    Responsibilities:

    + Review, approve, archive, and link the hardware engineering documents to SAP under Corporate ISO9001/AS9100 standards.

    + Process electrical and mechanical CAD drawings, engineering specifications, technical manuals, factory & operations authorizations (build, ship, deviation), test reports, requirement specifications, and other miscellaneous engineering documents.

    + Assign, enter, monitor, & maintain part number information and bills of materials into SAP.

    + Archive and link any TCN or ECN (Engineering Change Notice) associated documents.

    + Coordinate the product documentation interactions between engineering, manufacturing, field operations, and business groups to ensure appropriate changes are effectively communicated.

    + Maintain hardware CM document templates and CM Portal website.

    + Create regular status reports on all documentation archived, release pending, and allocation checks each month.

    + Create and update CM ISO procedures. Establish and enforce standards and CM best practices

    + Review & manage restricted data types like ITAR, EAR, & CUI​

    Basic Requirements:

    + Associates degree

    + 8 year's of experience in Configuration Management, using at least 1 software application tool.

    + Must be a U.S. Person (e.g., U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, U.S. National or a protected individual under 8 U.S.C 1324b(a)(3)) as position requires access to U.S. export restricted materials.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Bachelor's degree

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools Working knowledge of SAP enterprise software (read/write) or equivalent enterprise resource planning software.

    + Exposure to Configuration Management a plus.

    + Experience with any hardware engineering documents a plus.

     

    Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.

     

    The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level and competencies. Candidates need to successfully complete a pre-employment screen, which may include a drug test and DMV check.
