*The University of Maryland School of Nursing (UMSON)*has an exciting opportunity for a*Program Specialist.* The primary function of the DNP Program Specialist is to provide comprehensive administrative and operational support for the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program at the University of Maryland School of Nursing. This role directly supports the Associate Dean for the DNP program and collaborates with the Senior Director and Post-Master’s Specialty Director to manage committee and event logistics, meeting documentation, admissions support, data tracking, and communications. With nearly 600 enrolled students across multiple campuses and program options, the Program Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless delivery and oversight of program operations, including graduation certification, orientation, and stakeholder meetings. *Benefits: Exempt Regular * UMB offers acomprehensive benefits packagethat prioritizes wellness, work/life balance, and professional development, along withadditional exciting perksthat employees can take advantage of. All employees are expected to work primarily physically within the State of Maryland*. *Essential Functions:* * Assist the Associate Dean for the DNP Program in the management of the DNP program, including supporting students and faculty members. * Contribute to projects that require monitoring and evaluation. * Under the guidance from the Associate Dean, oversee daily operations, organize program activities, and help set priorities. * Provide routine and non-routine technical support and advice, problem solving assistance, and answer questions from students and faculty members. * Interpret program goals and policies and provide administrative support. * Assist in conceptualization, development, and preparation of written products such as training materials, website content, final progress reports, and promotional materials. * Recommend resources for the improvement of the program. * Organize and lead workshops, events, or meetings:Manage logistics, scheduling, and communication with participants. * Assist in evaluating program effectiveness to develop improved methods; devise evaluation methodology and implements; analyze results and recommend and/or take appropriate action. * Has the authority to formulate, affect, interpret, or implement policies or procedures to ensure effective operation of the program. * Develop and maintain internet web site files and/or listings. * Interact and maintain liaison with students, faculty, staff and outside/community agencies in facilitating program objectives. * Effectively manage electronic file records of students’ progression and other program-associated files using academic applications used by UMSON. * Serve as primary contact and think critically about all aspects of the program to resolve questions and make decisions related to the program. * Perform other duties as assigned. *Education*: Bachelor's degree. *Experience*: Two (2) years of administrative or program coordination experience. Experience in higher education or healthcare setting preferred. *Other:*Related experience to program may be substituted for education. Ability to prepare financial statements and budgets. *KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES* Knowledge of position requirements. Knowledge of all applicable requirements, regulations, and laws. Skill in effective use of applicable technology/systems. Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written thoughts, ideas, and facts. Ability to work cooperatively with others and independently.
