Job Title: Quality Control Manager
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Control Manager to oversee a 12-month project involving the renovation of a hanger at Norfolk Naval. This role offers a manageable workload and the opportunity for involvement in various projects across the portfolio. The position requires an active Quality Control Management (QCM) certification and a minimum of two years of experience as a Quality Control Manager.
Responsibilities
+ Develop and implement project-specific quality control procedures.
+ Inspect and evaluate work areas according to plans, specifications, and contract documents, reporting deficiencies and elevating issues as necessary to ensure safety and quality.
+ Develop, gather, maintain, and submit work plans, submittals, reports, etc.
+ Ensure subcontractors are informed of all project quality control expectations.
+ Plan and conduct a three-phase inspection program, including preparatory meetings and reports, initial phase inspections, follow-up inspections, and final phase inspections.
+ Lead and document quality control meetings with the project team and customers, providing written minutes.
+ Provide daily quality control reports to achieve quality outcomes in a timely manner, reinforcing activities constructed in conformance with project standards, and addressing non-conformance constructively.
+ Verify and document that all materials/equipment received conform to approved submittals, are handled and stored correctly, and are suitable for use in the project; check for damaged and defective materials and coordinate and document all required code and independent inspections.
+ Clearly document, correct, and re-inspect all non-conformances before covering up work.
+ Review as-built drawings to ensure they are current and reflect deviations from contract drawings.
+ Review the Job Site Safety Plan, verify hazard analysis approval prior to specific work features during the preparatory phase of control, ensure safety measures during the initial phase, and conduct safety inspections during follow-up.
+ Stop work, reject materials/equipment, and direct the removal and replacement of work not compliant with contract documents, codes, building standards, or construction engineering principles.
+ Communicate and interact professionally as a team member with trades, manufacturers, suppliers, construction staff, and customer representatives.
Essential Skills
+ Active QCM certification and two years of tenure as a Quality Control Manager.
+ Experience working on Federal Construction projects.
+ Ability to obtain security clearance for federal projects.
+ Minimum of five years of experience in programs of similar size and scope.
+ Current OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, and USACE Construction Quality Control Management certifications or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in construction management, construction science, engineering, or a related field preferred.
+ Safety experience is a strong plus.
+ CHST, OSHA 30, CPR, and EM385 certifications are required.
+ Strong verbal communication skills and ability to resolve conflict.
+ Excellent listening skills and detailed documentation ability.
+ Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, BlueBeam, and various software.
+ Valid driver's license.
+ CQC experience preferred.
Work Environment
The role involves on-site QC management of a hanger renovation project at Oceana. Construction work attire is required, and typical work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. The company offers great pay, benefits, including two weeks of PTO and 10 holidays. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $105000.00 - $130000.00/hr.
