Job Title: Plastics Engineering TechnicianJob Description

The primary responsibility of this role is to lead quality development and confirmation of new model plastic shop mold and equipment processes to ensure key performance indicators are achieved prior to the hand-over milestone to the North American Manufacturing Centers. This role supports the Plastics Production Engineering department's objective to launch high-quality new model plastic components.

Responsibilities

+ Provide hands-on support for new model injection molding preparation and trials.

+ Identify mold and equipment problems and implement countermeasures.

+ Lead installation activities related to interior/exterior plastics tooling, robot teaching, trial support, and assist NAMC’s as needed.

+ Assist in specification reviews/vendor trials for new process equipment.

+ Support standardized work development, team member training, and quality control plan documentation.

+ Support engineering and manufacturing activities and reporting.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in plastics tooling.

+ Experience in new model launch for automotive and manufacturing.

+ Experience in plastics molding equipment, injection molding, and processing.

+ Ability to travel up to 50%, including international travel.

+ Technical degree or higher.

+ Bachelor's degree.

+ Experience in robot teaching such as Denso, Yasakawa, Nachi, Kawasaki, or similar.

+ Minimum of five years automotive experience preferred.

+ Experience installing new equipment/processes.

+ Passed TBP thru panel.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Plastics engineering.

+ PLC programming.

+ Commissioning and building systems.

+ Experience in industrial and commercial construction.

+ Proficiency in AutoCAD and Bluebeam.

+ Structural design knowledge.

Work Environment

This position is onsite in Georgetown, KY, with standard working hours from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. The role requires 50% travel, including international destinations such as Canada and Japan. Overtime may be necessary based on business needs, including weekend work.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $36.00/hr.
