Traveling Superintendent

As a Superintendent, you will oversee and coordinate all activities on construction sites according to project blueprints and schedule plans. Your duties will include coordinating subcontractors, performing quality control and safety checks, and providing on-site direction during site preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Direct activities of workers involved in building projects, agricultural projects (e.g., hog confinements), material storage facilities, and similar projects.
+ Manage contracts and provide on-site coordination for all phases of construction projects.
+ Study specifications to plan construction procedures based on starting and completion times, staffing requirements, available tools, equipment, and building methods.
+ Coordinate scheduling, inspections, quality control, and job site safety.
+ Hold pre-construction, progress, and cost construction meetings as the project progresses.
+ Order procurement tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules.
+ Confer with and direct supervisory personnel and subcontractors to plan and execute work procedures, interpret specifications, and coordinate various construction phases to prevent delays.
+ Resolve complaints and grievances within the workforce by conferring with supervisory personnel and labor representatives.
+ Resolve construction problems and improve methods by conferring with supervisory and engineering personnel, inspectors, and suppliers of tools and materials.
+ Write and maintain a daily log of activities on the job site.
+ Maintain positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and office/project manager/owner; keep the office informed of concerns and project needs.
+ Inspect work in progress to ensure it conforms to specifications and adheres to construction schedules.
+ Prepare or receive reports on progress, materials used, and costs, and adjust work schedules as indicated by reports.
+ Direct workers involved in major maintenance or reconditioning projects for existing installations.
+ Perform and maintain all company documentation requirements, including daily reports, daily progress with pictures, JHA’s, toolbox talks, etc.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
+ Formal education (2 or 4-year degree) in construction management preferred
+ 3+ years of experience running agricultural construction projects preferred
+ Must be willing to travel; projects could be in MT, WY, ND, SD, NE, IA, or MN.
+ Projects will start in Montana
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $49.00/hr.
