Responsibilities
The Associate Director of Global Services Learning & Development acts as a strategic consultant to business partners, identifying needs, recommending performance and learning solutions, and ensuring effective, high quality learner experience. This role involves creating and managing large-scale learning strategies to improve organizational capabilities and promote compliance. It requires cross-functional collaboration to ensure alignment between learning strategies and curriculum design. Additionally, the role involves working with governance bodies, delivering effective learning solutions, and ensuring program and budget needs are addressed in business plan.
This position oversees global processes, including corporate initiative program and project management. It is directly responsible for learning strategy and support for one or more functional areas such as HR, Ethics & Compliance, Legal, Tech, Finance, and Procurement.
Learning Strategy & Performance Consultant
+ Partner with senior leaders to develop strategies for identifying, prioritizing, and funding performance improvement and employee capability initiatives, ensuring alignment with quality, compliance, and ethics standards.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate innovative technologies into existing solutions.
+ Use data analytics tools to update training programs based on data-driven decision making.
+ Analyze needs and create learning interventions and evaluation strategies to meet business requirements.
+ Develop and communicate strategy and implementation plans for learning interventions and other related initiatives.
+ Supervise and summarize progress for implemented learning interventions and other related initiatives.
+ Evaluate the effectiveness of learning interventions and other related initiatives.
+ Work together to enhance internal L&D processes, focusing on simplification and automation to improve outcomes for L&D and global functions.
+ Provide leadership in the development and promotion of innovative learning solutions and high quality learner experience.
+ Stay abreast of the breadth of learning solutions and technology to drive and influence business partners to adopt the most effective learning methods, solutions and outcomes.
+ Benchmark externally to Lilly as appropriate, and drive performance improvement solutions as a result.
+ Maintain linkages with professional L&D associations and other Lilly L&D groups.
Strategic Business Partnership:
+ Provide leadership of critical initiatives across functions, ensuring sponsorship and delivery of results on time and within budget to meet or exceed customer expectations.
+ Consult with business partners to prioritize and fund learning solutions and represent those needs during the business planning process.
+ Partner with L&D leadership to prioritize learning solutions and identify integration points across functions, sites, or regions to meet business learning and performance needs.
+ Appropriately influence business leadership regarding ways to use performance-based learning as a strategic lever for their organization.
+ Use expertise with governance and leadership teams to influence business decisions related to developing the capabilities of personnel.
+ Monitor client satisfaction to ensure the learning strategy implementation provides business value (across function and geography).
+ Influence learning organization through knowledge gained from relationship with internal and external colleagues and business partners.
Manage Portfolio of Work, Curriculum Architecture, & Learning Plans
+ Provide leadership of governance processes as assigned.
+ Anticipate and resolve critical issue points on associated learning business problems that impact the function and associated learners.
+ Lead the establishment and maintenance of the curriculum architecture.
+ Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI and apply them to learning strategies, processes, and tools.
+ Define qualification programs based on business requirements.
+ Ensure processes are in place for effective learning plan management in assigned functions.
+ Partner with others to ensure audit-readiness and interface with auditors, inspectors, regulators, legal, or outside customers on business issues as required.
+ Leverage L&D systems and partner with other internal and supplier partners to prioritize and manage learning activities and requests as appropriate (including corporate initiative processes, reporting and troubleshooting).
Basic Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources/ Business Management/Instructional Design or related field.
+ A minimum of 5 years of experience in Learning & Development, with demonstrated success in leading projects as well as developing & implementing strategies.
+ Experience managing learning portfolio’s for global organizations

+ Demonstrated program/portfolio management skills.
+ Experience supporting or participating in audits and inspections
+ Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong business relationships at leadership levels both internal to Lilly and with external collaborators.
+ Demonstrated ability in communication, conflict resolution, judgment and managing ambiguity for effective results in complex, resource-constrained situations.
+ Demonstrated skills in strategic thinking, leadership, and proactive strategic learning and development consultation.
+ Demonstrated experience in instructional design, analysis, and evaluation, as well as inclusive design for accessibility.
+ Demonstrated ability to coach others.
+ Ability and willingness to challenge business leadership regarding ways to use learning interventions to most effectively meet business requirements.
+ Demonstrated ability to operate broadly and at a high level, while maintaining appropriate attention to detail.
+ Experience leading large scale budgets.
+ Experience with L&D/SOP business processes.
+ Ability to effectively partner globally.
+ Ability to navigate complex, matrix-based organizations.
+ Knowledge of companion systems used to implement common business and L&D processes (such as SuccessFactors, ServiceNow, Veeva).
+ Strong organizational skills.
+ Flexibility and creativity.
+ Motivational and team-building skills.
+ M.S. degree in Instructional Systems Technology, Performance Technology, Adult Learning, or related experience/education.
+ Human Performance Improvement (HPI) Certification.

+ Location: Indianapolis, IN
+ Flexible role with onsite expectations of 3 days per 5 day work week
+ Some travel may be required.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$122,250 - $179,300
Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
