    As an Information Systems Security Officer, you will serve as the principal advisor to the Information System Owner, Business Process Owner, and the Chief Information Security Officer/Information System Security Manager on all matters concerning the security of an information system. You will ensure the implementation and maintenance of security controls in alignment with the Security Plan and Department of Defense policies. Your role will involve providing guidance, oversight, and expertise in security matters, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure essential activities are performed.

    Responsibilities

    + Serve as the principal advisor on all technical and security matters related to the information system.

    + Ensure the implementation and maintenance of security controls according to the Security Plan and DoD policies.

    + Provide guidance and oversight but may not develop security documents or implement security controls.

    + Collaborate with the System Owner, technical staff, and stakeholders to coordinate security activities.

    + Manage day-to-day security operations and ensure compliance with security policies.

    + Monitor the information system and its environment, manage and control system changes, and handle incidents.

    + Assist in the development and maintenance of Security policies, procedures, and the System Security Plan.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience with governance risk and compliance (GRC) software.

    + Knowledge of incident management and security operations.

    + Possession of a Security+ Certificate or Governance, Risk, and Compliance Certification (GSRC).

    + Ability to maintain the appropriate operations security posture for the information system.

    + Experience with compliance and automation in security operations.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Understanding of how the system supports the organization's mission, including architecture and system components.

    + Familiarity with data flow, interconnections, security categorization, and configuration management processes.

    + Ability to obtain a security clearance.

    Work Environment

    The role involves both on-site and remote work, with occasional embedding with a government customer. You will have the opportunity to support the US Army's missions by safeguarding information security across various platforms, gaining exposure to technology execution. This position offers a great work/life balance with flexible hours.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $60.10 - $84.13/hr.
