    Job Title: Production Operations Technician

    Job Description

    As a Production Operations Technician, you will coordinate parts, assembly, testing, painting, packaging, and shipping of company products. You will perform various manufacturing tasks, including assembling, operating manual and automatic equipment, setting up machines, testing, and dismantling unit assemblies and complex subassembly work stations according to work process instructions. You are expected to rotate among all stations within each assembly cell, performing repetitive work at a consistent pace to meet customer demands. A working knowledge and ability to repair final unit assemblies and complex subassemblies are essential.

    Responsibilities

    + Coordinate parts, assembly, test, paint, package, and shipping of products.

    + Perform manufacturing tasks such as assembling, operating equipment, and setting up machines.

    + Test and dismantle unit assemblies and complex subassembly work stations.

    + Rotate among assembly stations to perform repetitive work to meet customer demands.

    + Repair final unit assemblies and complex subassemblies using power tools.

    Essential Skills

    + 6 months prior production experience.

    + 6 months experience in an assembly-based position.

    + Ability to read, write and understand instructions.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with production, assembly, automotive, lube, and manufacturing.

    + Proficiency in using power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, drills, and torque guns.

    Work Environment

     

    This position is based in a large manufacturing facility with approximately 270-290 production-based employees spread across 13-14 different assembly lines. Shift options include 1st Shift (6 AM to 2 PM), 2nd Shift (2 PM to 10 PM), and 3rd Shift (10 PM to 6 AM). The dress code requires steel-toed boots, jeans, a t-shirt, and gloves due to the oily nature of the products handled, which are largely hydraulic components requiring oil for lubrication.

    This is a Contract position based out of AMES, Iowa.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.70/hr.
