    Job Title: CMM Inspector

    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated CMM Inspector for our large aerospace facility located in Los Alamitos, CA. The role involves operating Zeiss Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) for production parts and using Verisurf for Romer Arm inspection.

     

    Inspectors will be tooling fixtures according to engineering drawings, using precision inspection tools and gauges. This is a direct hire, day shift position from 6am-2:30pm, Monday to Friday with pay from $30-$35 an hour (option for higher with programming experience).

    Responsibilities

    + Perform in-process and final inspections of tools, fixtures, and jigs used in subassembly and final assembly of manufactured products.

    + Analyze engineering blueprints, models, process specifications, shop travelers, and manufacturing planning documents to determine inspection requirements.

    + Maintain accurate records of all tool calibration activities and monitor intervals with high accuracy.

    + Collaborate with production supervisors and leads to maintain steady flows of tooling.

    + Program and run Coordinate Measuring Machines using Calypso 5.4 software.

    + Operate Metronics QC5000 CMM program and Romer Arm Verisurf with version 10 software.

    + Maintain CMM cleanliness and operations.

    + Operate and maintain Comparators.

    + Interpret complex tool drawings.

    + Use standard measuring instruments to make inspection setups.

    + Initiate and record inspection reports and results.

    + Perform periodic inspections on tooling listed on the monthly dispatch report.

    + File drawings and reports accurately.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments typical of the tool and die making trade.

    + Experience with Calypso 5.4 software and coordinate measuring machines.

    + Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.

    + Working proficiency with shop geometry, trigonometry, and descriptive geometry.

    + Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate, complete records.

    + Problem-solving skills including root cause analysis and corrective actions.

    + Excellent written and oral communication skills.

    + Proficiency with computers and MS Office suite.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + 2 years of related technical college or trade school, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    + 6+ years of related aerospace industry experience in precision inspection.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $64480.00 - $72800.00/yr.
