Minimum qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
+ 5 years of experience in program management.
+ Experience with human research studies (e.g., clinical trials, observational studies, experimental studies, epidemiological studies, etc.).
+ Experience in software development projects.
Preferred qualifications:
+ 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
+ Experience in human research studies management at a technology company, consultancy, or other in-house setting, with a track record of managing complex, ambiguous programs.
+ Experience in overseeing, conducting, and training others on scientific protocols.
+ Experience sourcing and managing 3P vendors for research studies.
+ Experience in consumer hardware, apps, and services.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.
As a Technical Program Manager in the Human Research Lab, you will be a pivotal cross-functional leader, driving the strategy and execution of research studies. Collaborating closely with Research Scientists, Software Engineers, and Clinicians, you will manage the lifecycle of research studies, from intaking requests, triaging experimental priorities, and technology readiness to developing comprehensive multi-study strategies and roadmaps aligned with our business objectives. You will develop and oversee study execution ensuring excellence in recruitment and participant experience, study execution, data quality, and meeting study objectives. You will manage complex programs, often stemming from ambiguous problem statements, taking full ownership to generate innovative solutions and organize them into clear goals and objectives.You will succeed in this role by pragmatically balancing new solutions and existing tools.
The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $156,000-$229,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. + Manage programs of human subjects research studies including owning the strategy, and overseeing the study management execution.
+ Partner closely with engineering leadership and product management to define, refine and iterate on team and program strategy, making critical decisions about priorities.
+ Own executive, team, and stakeholder communications, demonstrating exemplary communication and strong presentation skills to represent program status, challenges, and strategies from business, product and technical perspectives.
+ Manage and cultivate cross-functional and partner relationships to augment team’s capabilities and deliver collaborative and innovative studies that span foundational research and product development, showing leadership and influence across teams.
+ Prioritize program goals, understand and translate other stakeholders’ needs into program goals and prioritized deliverables with minimal assistance, and contribute to decisions on prioritizing goals and deliverables.
