    Job Title: Low Voltage Installer

    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Technician to update systems and run new wires in commercial buildings in Wilson, NC. The role involves working with electricity ranging from 0-50 volts, monitoring contractors, and handling materials for a commercial project. Responsibilities include security, audio, video access control, telecom installations, and service. Candidates must be punctual and flexible with their schedules. Training is provided for those who are honest about their current skill levels.

    Responsibilities

    + Install, test, terminate, and troubleshoot CAT5, CAT6, coax, and other low voltage cables for voice/data/video/security in new and existing offices, stores, and buildings.

    + Recognize and locate routers, switches, demarcs, phone systems, access points, printers, and fax machines.

    + Follow installation manuals to install cash registers, computers, printers, and other equipment.

    + Load and unload materials and tools.

    + Safely and efficiently install and connect copper LAN wiring, telephone wiring, and fiber optic cables according to specifications and instructions.

    + Solve installation and connection problems as they arise.

    + Assimilate new methodologies, technologies, and concepts relating to cable installation and connection.

    + Maintain proper documentation and paperwork.

    + Work effectively and efficiently with customers and supervisors.

    + Communicate effectively and efficiently with customers and other contractors.

    + Perform job duties with minimal supervision.

    + Train and supervise Assistant Cable Technicians and Helpers.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in inspection, low voltage, data cable installation, and pulling wire.

    + Knowledge of security alarm systems, security installation, and fire alarm.

    + Understanding of construction, electrical, cable, and blueprint reading.

    Work Environment

     

    Work primarily involves commercial buildings with flexible schedules. No PPE or medical monitoring is required, and there are no certification requirements. The environment is team-oriented, encouraging effective communication and collaboration.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract position based out of Wilson, North Carolina.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
