The fall courses are currently scheduled for MW 9-10:50am and TR 2-3:50pm but may be negotiable. Spring course times have not been set yet.
Position Summary Information
Position Summary
Slippery Rock University is seeking applicants for a one-year, half-time, temporary, Instructor position in the Theatre Departmet for the 2025-2026 academic year.
Teaching responsibilities include four sections of advanced-level acting courses
+ one section of Acting III (Meisner Technique)
+ one section of Acting Technique
+ two sections of Movement for the Actor
Additional responsibilities include active participation in the department and dedication to fostering diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in the classroom, rehearsals, and performances.
The successful applicant must demonstrate a commitment to teaching, as well as a demonstrated commitment to teaching diverse populations. Successful performance in an interview and teaching demonstration are required.
Successful candidates must also demonstrate a commitment to collaboration, collegiality, excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as teaching beyond the classroom as essential components of excellent teaching.

Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must have:
+ a Master’s degree (or higher) in Theatre or closely related discipline (we may consider professional experience in the field as a substitute);
+ college-level teaching experience;
+ professional experience as a stage performer and/or stage director;
+ experience teaching and working with
+ Meisner Technique
+ movement styles for actors
+ additional advanced-level, specialized acting techniques
