    Infusion Pharmacy System Analyst

    Works under the general supervision of the Infusion Pharmacy Manager and is an integral member of the Cowell Family Cancer Center (CFCC) team. The person in this position is responsible for developing and maintaining the functionality of all software used in the Infusion Pharmacy. The system analyst is involved in treatment plan development, third party software management (testing, implementation and maintenance), and works collaboratively on billing matters with CFCC insurance verification team and inpatient pharmacy informatics. The system analyst is responsible for training pharmacy employees on systems, optimizing workflow and software troubleshooting.

    Home Infusion Pharmacy System Analyst

    Works under the general supervision of the Home Infusion Pharmacy Coordinator and the Coordinator of the Pharmacy Informatics teams. The person in this position is responsible for developing and maintaining the functionality of all software used in the Home Infusion Pharmacy. The system analyst is involved in treatment plan development, third party software management (testing, implementation and maintenance), and works collaboratively on billing matters with the Home Infusion insurance verification team and inpatient pharmacy informatics. The system analyst is responsible for training pharmacy employees on systems, optimizing workflow and software troubleshooting.

    What’s Required:

    Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Business or Healthcare emphasis required or an equivalent and relevant work experience of 8 years or more may be considered.

     

    • Full Pharmacy Technician License issued by the State of Michigan preferred at hire (if not previously licensed, will be required within 1 year of employment)

    • Experience in pharmacy required

    • Exceptional computer/information system skills are required including Excel, Word, and various billing software.

    • Ability to learn new software and implement/build them as they become available for increased billing efficiency is required.

    • Above average communication skills include proper written and verbal use of English

    DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

    • Experience in health informatics/information systems highly desirable

    Infusion Pharmacy System Analyst

    • Experience with Varian Medical Oncology, Unlimited Systems – Looking Glass, Cerner or MedKeeper highly preferred

    Home Infusion Pharmacy System Analyst

    • Experience in insurance verification and billing preferred.

    • Experience in Home Infusion preferred.

    • Understanding of ICD-10, HCPCs and CPT coding (or willingness to learn)

    • Ability to communicate effectively with insurance payers, co-workers, patients, and management

    • Ability to understand and act on communication from insurance companies.
