Assists professional nursing personnel in providing direct and indirect patient care.

• The most qualified candidate will be expected to provide physical assistance to help a patient out of a vehicle -- heavy lifting may be required. ★

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Minimum one-year emergency/urgent care experience required or college education equivalent.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

+ Performs direct patient care activities under the supervision of a registered nurse.

+ Recognizes and reports pertinent change in health care status of patients to a registered nurse.

+ Communicates with families concerning patients and provides support as needed.

+ Assists patients with comfort measures.

+ Observes, records and reports pertinent information accurately and promptly.

+ Assists other health care professionals with procedures.

+ Maintains confidentiality of patient information.

+ Utilizes standard precautions and applies infection control procedures employing medical asepsis principles.

+ Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
