    Would you like to launch your career with one of the most successful logistics organizations worldwide? Here at Kuehne+Nagel, our Bensenville, IL site is looking for a new Gateway & Procurement Specialist to join our Air Logistics team

     

    How you create impact

     

    Reporting to the Area Air Gateway & Procurement Manager you will be responsible for performing Dangerous Goods (DG) checks on all applicable cross-dock cargo, ensuring compliance with International Air Transport Association (IATA) regulations and the company's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and limitations. Your expertise in this area ensures that each shipment is thoroughly inspected and properly classified to meet the safety and regulatory requirements for air transport.

    Your Responsibilities:

    + Establish, oversee, maintain, and operate the Dangerous Goods area of the warehouse

    + After initial Dangerous Goods acceptance check is performed by front-dock; all subsequent 51-point IATA checks to be performed by the Dangerous Goods coordinator on any/ all Dangerous Goods cargo.

    + Dangerous Goods checks should be in a timely same-day cross-dock manner in order of first-in/first-out

    + Maintain process of Dangerous Goods handling for the region prioritizing cargo based on temp requirements, planned departure date, etc.

    + Arrange bookings with carriers; optimize cargo consolidations

    + Tuesday-Saturday (flexibility for an 8-hour shift within the hours of 6:00am and 6:00pm)

    What we would like you to bring

    + Category 6 Dangerous Goods License

    + 5+ years of experience with Dangerous goods- IATA acceptance

    + Computer proficiency

    + Good knowledge of international geography including countries, major cities

    + Solid knowledge of export procedures/documentation, Pharma, Aerospace, Automotive, Semicon etc. is a plus
