THE POSITION
Are you interested in supporting military-connected children as they relocate to new schools due to a parent's change in duty station? DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing and approving Continuing Professional Education (CPE) course applications and related activities as well as assisting Pennsylvania military families as the Compact Commissioner for the Military Interstate Children’s Commission (MIC3) and Purple Star Schools Program. Effective communication is essential as you will be corresponding with the field and providers regarding processes for becoming an approved provider and for preparing clear, concise reports for internal and public use. Work involves maintaining files, providing technical assistance to local school systems, and chairing the Military Interstate Children’s Compact State Council. You will have the opportunity to analyze and approve Purple Star Schools applications, while also managing the administrative aspects of the Purple Star Schools award. Additional responsibilities include:
+ Handling confidential information pertaining to the Division of Planning and Professional Development
+ Reviewing legal changes that pertain to military connected students and families
+ Developing or revising policies when new legal requirements or changes occur
+ Developing and delivering presentations, trainings, and workshops

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment
+ Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
+ Travel is required.
+ Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. You will be required to report in-office one day per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
+ Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $75,678.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
+ One year of experience as a Basic Education Associate I (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);or
+ Five years of professional experience in the field of education; or
+ Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
