    We anticipate the need for one or more Apprentice Substation Electrician(s) at the Western Service Center in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

     

    The starting rate of pay at a Journeyman level is $59.48 hourly, and depending on the level of our top candidate, an apprentice will be brought in at the following percentage of Journeyman pay.

     

    Step 1 is 60% of the Journeyman Rate

     

    Step 2 is 65% of the Journeyman Rate

     

    Step 3 is 70% of the Journeyman Rate

     

    Step 4 is 75% of the Journeyman Rate

     

    This position will be posted for 15 Working days from 5/13/25 to 6/2/25.

    Summary

    In this position, you will be required to successfully participate in and learn through a structured apprentice training program, which will result in the knowledge and ability to perform all aspects of Substation construction, operations and maintenance at the Journeyman Electrician level. To be successful in this position, you must be self-motivated, work well with others, have a positive attitude, and be committed to working safely.

    Required

    - High School diploma or equivalent

     

    - Must be able to successfully complete approved apprenticeship program

     

    - Must pass the federal D.O.T. physical examination and have a valid Class A CDL driver's license within the first 6 months of hire

     

    - Must have basic computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

     

    - Will be required to meet residency requirement of 20 miles radius of the reporting headquarters

     

    - Will be required to respond to after hour and weekend call out and be willing to travel extensively for extended periods of time

     

    - Must be able to perform work in confined spaces and be able to lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds

     

    - Must be able and willing to climb and work at heights

     

    - Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

     

    - Must be able to use an assortment of hand tools and electrical diagnostic equipment

     

    Preferred

     

    - Must be committed to working safely and promoting a safe working environment.

     

    - Additional education, such as a technical vocational or Associate's degree, in electrical construction and maintenance, or other related field is desired.

     

    - Mechanical, electrical, and/or power distribution work experience is preferred.

    Bargaining

     

    The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $35.69 to $44.61 per hour
