    Job Overview:

    We are seeking a dynamic, creative, and highly organized Senior Resort Programming Manager to join our team. This position is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and management of guest activities and entertainment programs that enhance the overall guest experience at our resort. The Senior Resort Programming Manager will collaborate with various departments to ensure a diverse, high-quality range of activities is available to guests, from outdoor adventures and wellness programs to wine, beer, and culinary experiences. The Senior Resort Programming Manager will report to the Director of Rooms.

     

    The ideal candidate is a passionate individual who thrives in a fast-paced, guest-centric environment and has a strong background in hospitality, event planning, and program management.

    Requirements

    + Program Development & Implementation:

    + Design, coordinate, and implement a variety of daily, weekly, and seasonal activities and events for resort guests.

    + Curate activity schedules, ensuring a balance of leisure, wellness, adventure, and cultural offerings.

    + Build compelling itineraries to answer the question: “What’s there to do in Aurora?”

    + Collaborate with resort leadership to align programs with the overall brand and guest experience objectives.

    + Stay ahead of trends in travel and resort programming, incorporating new ideas to keep offerings fresh and exciting.

    + Effectively negotiate terms and develop contracts that may demand customization for a variety of independent contractors from a variety of fields of expertise.

    + Able to research and understand certifications of independent contractors.

    + Team Leadership & Management:

    + Manage a team of activity Program coordinators, entertainers, and support staff.

    + Provide leadership, mentorship, and training to ensure high performance and guest satisfaction.

    + Set clear performance expectations and conduct regular reviews to maintain program quality.

    + Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment.

    + Budgeting & Resource Management:

    + Develop and manage the program budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.

    + Source and manage any third-party vendors, entertainers, and instructors for activities.

    + Maintain an inventory of supplies and equipment needed for activities and events.

    + Guest Engagement & Experience:

    + Ensure all programming is designed with the guest experience in mind, providing memorable moments and interactions.

    + Address guest feedback and make necessary adjustments to activities and programming.

    + Work closely with the marketing team to promote activities and ensure maximum guest participation.

    + Collaboration & Cross-Department Communication:

    + Work with the front desk and reservations teams to ensure smooth guest communication and seamless coordination of programming.

    + Collaborate with the Food & Beverage team to offer dining experiences (e.g., cooking classes, wine tastings).

    + Coordinate with the Spa and Wellness teams to offer holistic, health-oriented experiences.

    + Safety & Compliance:

    + Ensure all activities and events are conducted safely and in accordance with resort policies and local regulations.

    + Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment for all guests and staff involved in programming.

    Qualifications:

    + Education:

    + Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Event Planning, Recreation, or a related field.

    + Certification in CPR, First Aid, or similar preferred.

    + Experience:

    + Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in resort programming, event planning, or hospitality management.

    + Previous experience managing a team and developing and executing large-scale events or activities.

    + Strong understanding of guest expectations in a luxury resort or hospitality setting.

    + Skills & Competencies:

    + Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

    + Ability to think creatively and adapt programs to changing guest preferences and seasonal demands.

    + Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle high-pressure situations.

    + Experience with budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation.

    + Knowledge of outdoor recreation, wellness programs, and culinary activities is a plus.

    + Physical Requirements:

    + Ability to participate in outdoor and physically demanding activities.

    + Comfortable working in both office and outdoor environments in various weather conditions.
