    The Position

    Information Technology (IT) Professionals analyze, develop, implement, maintain, and modify computer operations, systems, networks, databases, applications, and/or information security. Incumbents may perform duties in one or more IT specialization areas depending on the needs of the agency.

     

    Incumbents perform journey level duties and may serve as a lead worker to lower level IT staff as assigned. This is a supervisory level for the Computer Operations function.

     

    The Division of Public and Behavioral Health; Office of Information technology (OIT), is recruiting for an IT Professional 2, located in Carson City. This position maintains software operations of automation systems so data can be submitted from the State Repository to the Central Repository. The incumbent will install and implement additional software applications for future expansion of the database systems as requested by staff. The IT Professional 2 will maintain software operations for all provider types using systems for input of inspection activity. Incumbent will act as database administrator for all databases/websites and the Nevada Automated Background Check System (NABS). The incumbent will use PowerBI or Crystal Reports to create, modify and publish reports. They will document website and reporting processes; functions as technical lead for IT related projects. This position communicates technical information and changes as it relates to the automation data collection system from the system; communicates information from the Skilled Nursing Facilities and Home Health Agencies to any identified technical issues that cannot be solved at the State level. The IT Professional 2 will provide technical support to prepare reports to Bureau staff, Bureau Chief, and other State Agencies. ***THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

     

    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and two years of professional IT experience relevant to the duties of the position which may include computer operations, systems administration, network administration, database administration, applications analysis and development, and/or information security; OR two years of experience as an IT Professional I in Nevada State service; OR four years of relevant technical experience as an IT Technician IV or above in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

    Some positions require work on evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
