Job Description
BAE Systems is hiring a Manager III- Engineering Quality to support our Combat Missions Systems (CMS) business. The role will lead Production Quality & Process Improvement to drive and motivate teams across several major manufacturing sites. The role will be responsible for Quality support to Department of Defense production programs based out of York, PA, Anniston, AL, Elgin, OK, and Aiken, SC.
+ This position is onsite based in York, PA.
+ The role requires 25% of travel.
Responsibilities:
+ Drive planning of quality initiatives and process optimization within a multi-site manufacturing environment, focusing on near-term floor execution
+ Champion process improvement, mentoring and development, and cultural transformation
+ Develop, deploy, and monitor a system that provides near real-time, meaningful, and actionable quality metrics to help achieve product value stream objectives
+ Coordinate with cross-functional leaders to optimize and deploy efficient, repeatable, and effective production processes
+ Facilitate best practice identification and proliferation throughout the organization
+ Monitor portfolio-wide process adherence and compliance in an ISO 9001 environment
+ Champion a strong focus on risk-based, proactive quality exposure reduction through identification, assessment, prioritization, and mitigation of risks utilizing Advanced Product Quality Planning principles
+ Facilitate problem solving and robust root-cause corrective actions to improve the quality process
+ Lead portfolio-wide corrective action boards
+ Ensure timely development and implementation of effective corrective action plans
+ Serve as primary interface, effectively communicating and partnering with key USG and Program stakeholders regarding portfolio-wide quality issues and improvement initiatives
+ Coordinate resource distribution to support Continuous Improvement efforts
+ Work with Quality Functional resources to drive performance
+ Monitor and manage performance, including schedule, budget, and resources
+ Identify performance risks and opportunities, implementing mitigation or contingency plans
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
+ Bachelor's Degree and 12 years work experience or equivalent experience
+ Experience in Quality Management/Leadership
+ Experience in Manufacturing/Production
+ Experience in Requirements Management, including Contractual, Technical, and Regulatory
+ Experience in Product Quality Planning, including Design, FMEA, and/or Control Plans development and implementation
+ Experience in Root Cause Analysis
+ Experience in Corrective Action development and resolution
+ Experience in Process Improvement/Continuous Improvement
+ Experience in People Management/Leadership
+ Ability to drive results through influence across multiple functions
+ Ability to prioritize and act upon competing demands to achieve desired results
+ Ability to hold yourself and your team accountable to meet business objectives
+ Ability to monitor performance through Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and Metrics
+ Ability to identify risks and opportunities, implementing mitigation or contingency plans
+ Ability to champion innovation, process improvement, and change management
+ Strong relationship and stakeholder management skills
+ Strong communication and presentation skills
+ Ability to travel 25%
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
+ Certified Greenbelt or Blackbelt
+ Advanced Training in Quality Systems
+ Experience in the Defense Contracting industry
+ Experience working with the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA)
+ Experience implementing and maturing an ISO 9001 or AS9100 environment
+ Experience in Process Development and Ownership
+ Experience in Value Stream Management
+ Experience in Program Management, including scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation
+ Experience in Performance Management, including monitoring cost, timeline, etc.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $150370 - $255630
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
