    Job Responsibilities:

    + Story Identification and Pitching: Find and pitch stories that are viable as two-hour narratives

    + Booking and Development: Book competitive stories and develop stories of interest

    + Breaking News Availability: Be available for breaking news and travel for bookings and trials

    + Cross-Platform Assistance: Assist other ABC News shows with breaking news and major stories across platforms

    + Trial Coverage: Take detailed trial notes when covering court hearings

    Basic Qualifications:

    + 3+ years of journalism experience, including news production.

    + Strong editorial sensibilities and excellent communication skills.

    + Strong research skills and a passion for crime stories

    + Proven track record in booking and developing stories

    + Strong writing abilities.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Ability to shoot video and proficiency in computer and social media skills.

    Required Education:

    + Bachelor’s Degree

     

    The hiring range for this position in New York is $82,000 to $109,800 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
