    Waste Connections (Bishop, CA)


    **Bishop Waste,** a Waste Connections company, has an immediate opening for a **Driver** to support local septic/portable restroom routes in **Bishop** **, C** **A** . Drivers interested in stable, year-round employment encouraged to apply.

     

    The shift will be **Monday - Friday** , with occasional Saturdays as needed.

     

    Start time is **5:30 AM** and runs until the route is complete, typically 8-10 hours per day.

     

    Starting wage range will be **$24.00-$26.00/hour** depending on experience and credentials. The pay range for this job category is $24-31/hour.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Ability to safely operate a septic or portable restroom truck on specified routes.

    + Ability to read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.

    + Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking fluids,safetyequipment, and tires.

    + Ability to perform a physically demanding job, loading and unloading, at times with no helpers.

    + Courteousinteraction with our customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

    WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

    + Extensivephysicalactivity. Requires strenuousphysicalwork;heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.

    + Work environment involves some exposure tophysicalrisks such as movingmechanicalparts which require following basicsafetyprecautions.

    + The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.

    MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    + Valid Class C license required. Class B CDLwithair brakesendorsement preferred. Willing to train drivers interested in getting their Class B.

    + Cleandrivingrecord.

    + Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

    + Minimum 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
