    Job Responsibilities

    Under general direction, provides basic and advanced emergency medical care for assessment/evaluation, treatment, stabilization, and transport of the ill and injured for 911 response, inter-facility transfers, event medical support, and disasters. Provides security, emergency/code response, and patient care functions in hospital. Ensures all actions taken in carrying out responsibilities support patient centered care.

    Required Qualifications

    + Valid Paramedic certification for Iowa.

    + National Paramedic Certification through NREMT if licensed after 2006.

    + Valid Iowa Chauffeur license and eligibility for coverage under Mary Greeley Medical Center’s insurance and maintained throughout employment.

    + Graduation from a paramedic program with BETS approved skills.

    + Preferred Qualifications

    + Critical Care Paramedic

    + EMS Instructor

    + Pre-hospital Trauma life Support (PHTLS)
