    Overview

     

    Presbyterian Villages of Michigan, a premier senior living services non-profit organization, has a great opportunity to join our team at The Village of East Harbor as a Driver. We invite you to help us create new possibilities in quality living for the seniors we serve.

    Responsibilities

    + Operate vehicles with specialized equipment, such as wheelchair lifts to transport andsecure passengers with special needs.

    + Drive multi-passenger vehicles to transport residents between Village and destinationsuch as appointments, shopping areas, Village sponsored activities.

    + Communicate with Village by radio, telephone, or computer to exchange information and receive requests for passenger service.

    + Pick up or meet residents according to requests, appointments, or schedules.

    + Assist residents on and off bus, ensure they are seated properly, and help carry baggage.

    + Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations, using telephones or mobile two-way radios.

    + Comply with traffic regulations to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner.

    + Check the condition of a vehicle's tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment to ensure that everything is in working order. Vacuum and clean interiors, and wash and polish exteriors of vehicles. Report any bus malfunctions or needed repairs.

    + Record information on trip sheets, along with trip information such as time and place of pickup and drop-off. Prepare and submit reports that may include the number of passengers or trips, hours worked, mileage, and fuel consumption.

    + Attend and participate in all appropriate meetings and training opportunities in order to keep informed on current information and skill development.

    + Follow established policies and procedures including but not limited to:

     

    Presbyterian Villages policies and procedures.

     

    Safety policies and procedures.

     

    Federal, state and local regulations.

     

    + All other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)

     

    No prior experience necessary

     

    Must able to work a computer

     

    Must have a current Michigan Chauffeurs License

     

    Must be insurable by Village’s insurance carrier.
