    Required Qualifications and Overview of Responsibilities:

    + Holds a valid NYS teaching certificate in the School Psychologist, School Counselor, or School Social Worker tenure area.

    + Builds and maintains effective, supportive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.

    + Applies knowledge of counseling theories, intervention strategies, crisis management, and behavioral assessment.

    + Assists students in setting and working toward realistic academic goals.

    + Develops inclusive programs that promote respect, dignity, and a positive school climate.

    + Supports students in addressing social, emotional, behavioral, and personal challenges.

    + Maintains confidentiality of all records to protect individual privacy.

    + Identifies appropriate evaluation tools and referral sources to meet student needs.

    + Collaborates with students, parents, and school staff to create behavior plans that support learning.

    + Additional district needs, such as addressing absenteeism, as needed.
