    The Department of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs has an outstanding opportunity for an Assistant Director of First Year Recruitment to join their team.

     

    The Assistant Director for First Year Recruitment reports to the Associate Director of Admissions and provides oversight for the implementation of recruitment plans, makes decisions concerning admissions while adhering to all policies and procedures, serves as a supervisor and mentor to three full-time Admissions Counselors in order to train and develop them into top performing team members, serves as a supervisor to three to five temporary seasonal applications readers in order to process applications in a timely manner, prepares status reports and participates in staff meetings, assist in managing communication flows to prospective students and applicants, and collaborates with other department units to achieve department goals.

     

    **DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** Management of First Year Recruitment and Outreach

    + Work with Admissions Advisors to assist prospective first year students, parents, and community members with the admissions process including admissions policies and procedures.

    + Collaborate with the Director and the Associate Director in designing and implementing first year outreach and recruitment plans.

    + Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Welcome Experience in designing and implementing campus events related to first year recruitment.

    + Identify and develop communication plans to reach targeted audiences.

    + Build and maintain relations with departments on campus to ensure an efficient and effective admissions process.

    + Deploy Admissions Advisors to recruitment events and activities and make decisions about the best use of recruitment locations and activities.

    + Coordinate with Assistant Director of Transfer Recruitment for staff coverage of both first year and transfer recruitment events.

    + Attend and present at community events, including high school fairs, group information sessions and individual appointments as needed.

    + Build and maintain relations with schools and programs on campus to assist in meeting their enrollment goals.

    + Identify people and organizations to create relations and events to enable UW Bothell to meet enrollment and diversity goals.

    + Review, synthesize, and understand recruitment data. Leverage newfound understanding into changes to the strategic recruitment plan. Analyze data to plan where UW Bothell should increase visibility and recruitment efforts.

    + Overseeing the application review process for first year applicants.

    + Maintain responsibilities of an Admissions Advisor/Recruiter as needed.Supervision of First Year Recruitment Team

    + Supervise and mentor 3-4 FTE Admissions Advisors. This includes but is not limited to: Planning, assigning, and directing work of subordinates, appraising work performances, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems, providing guidance, feedback and direction in the development of recruitment plans, working with team members, the Director of Admissions, and the Associate Director of Admissions to develop strategic recruitment plans for key audiences that the university wants to grow.

    + Create accountability and take responsibility for the development and growth of each team member.

    + Supervise 3-5 temporary application readers who work part-time roles during the application processing period from November through February.Other Duties as assignedMay include but not limited to:

    + Assist in the decision-making process of the design and purchase of marketing and recruitment materials.

    + Assist in the management of admissions technology including Customer Relations Management (CRM) system.

    + Facilitate Recruitment Team Meetings in the absence of the Associate Director.

    + Attend Tri-campus enrollment leadership meetings.

    + Attend conferences, workshops, and other professional development opportunities. **MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**

    + Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Education, Psychology, or related field and at least three years of professional experience recruiting or advising diverse populations in an educational setting. **Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.** **ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS**

    + Knowledge and experience of the pre-admission and admissions processes.

    + Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

    + Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with the public, students, faculty, and community members including those from various cultural and socio-economic groups.

    + Ability to collect data and create reports using database systems.

    + Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and policies related to student records, information systems, admissions, and registration.

    + Presentation and advising skills that demonstrate commitment to best methods including use of technology.

    + Must be dependable, accurate, have attention to detail, be a good team member, and a positive attitude.

    + Ability to travel. **DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS**

    + 3+ years of professional work experience in an admissions office or higher educational setting with diverse student populations.

    + Master’s Degree.
