The National Landscaping Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing policies, procedures and training related to landscaping. This position will perform assessments to determine where we can cut costs and advise staff on maintenance and capital improvement decisions. This position will frequently interact with maintenance and field vendors.
Responsibilities
+ Develops curriculum and trains service center staff; raises awareness of products, pricing and solutions
+ Advises staff on maintenance and capital improvement decisions, including bid review and negotiation
+ Responsible for developing and implementing Company Landscaping policies and standards; works with In-House Maintenance, Property Management and the Construction departments and third-party vendors to implement and maintain the standards
+ Drives standardized Landscaping Pricing initiatives; negotiates with vendors to achieve optimal price offerings; works to establish premier vendor partnerships; researches and recommends cost saving alternatives
+ Identifies gaps in vendor networks; markets and recruits new vendors to fill those gaps; provides feedback to Vendor Management team to drive third-party vendor accountability
Requirements
+ High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) required, Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Botany, Landscape Design or related field preferred
+ Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in landscaping, gardening or a nursery related industry to show demonstrated knowledge of:
+ Landscaping, including turf, trees, shrubs, irrigation systems and maintenance
+ Negotiating to drive competitive pricing
+ Project Management and Vendor Management
+ Working knowledge of Microsoft Office required
+ Team player attitude, ability to use discretion and independent judgement, attention to detail
+ Excellent verbal and written communication, customer service, planning, and organizing skills
+ Strong negotiation, relationship management, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
+ Must be able to implement process improvement changes
