Responsibilities:
GENERAL PURPOSE
This position is being offered as one of a number of positions being coordinated under the umbrella of the University IT Internship Program in the summer of 2025. As a result, while the emphasis will be on individual experiences based on a position description provided, the group will be organized as a starting cohort and meet approximately every two weeks. The emphasis of this cohort experience will be to expose all participants to multiple facets of the Information Technology environment at the University of Rochester. These sessions will combine presentation by IT professionals and group discussion to broaden the learning experience. All students will also be asked to prepare a poster session at the end of the program. This will provide program participants an opportunity to link classroom learning to the practicum, as well as formalize thoughts and service recommendations to the IT organization.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
+ Work under direction of the Cloud Architect or project managers and with latitude for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative to assist with and/or actively lead activities pertaining to the assigned project.
+ Work with members of the organization to evaluate existing University and IT Security policies to determine additional policy needed for IT cloud infrastructure.
+ Use peer institutions to develop rationale for policies and guidelines appropriate for cloud services.
+ Organize and rationalize data gathered for proposal to governance committees and senior leadership.
+ Assist with implementation of approved cloud security policies

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
+ High School diploma required
+ Matriculated in an undergraduate or graduate studies program in IT, business administration, healthcare administration, engineering, or related field preferred.
+ 1+ year of work experience is preferred.
+ or an equivalent combination of education training and/or experience preferred.
+ No professional work experience is required.
+ Technical aptitude with ability to quickly learn new technology preferred.
+ Ability to express complex concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing preferred.
+ Solution oriented with a positive attitude preferred.
+ Strong ability to prioritize. Strong attention to detail preferred.
+ Reliable and able to establish trust with your team preferred.
+ No professional certification required. Must be able to travel to designated sites as assigned.
