Responsibilities:
GENERAL PURPOSE:
Researches, develops, executes and oversees annual admissions plan to recruit, qualify, assess and approve students for admission to the University, including counseling prospective students, recruitment visits, presentations and application review. Executes and oversees area(s) of focus, such as specific populations or recruitment skills and knowledge.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Researches, prepares and implements strategic plan for assigned special program recruitment.
- Strategically plans for recruitment efforts in assigned region. Travels by air, car, and train in assigned region, recruiting students.
- Interviews prospective students and parents and conducts campus tours as needed.
- Reads and evaluates freshmen applications and makes recommendations for admission action based on these reviews.
- Maintains telephone contact with prospective students, guidance counselors, parents, alumni and corporate contacts.
- Keeps current on guidelines and accepted admissions policies.
- Weekend assignments required for interview schedule, regional recruitment and special visitation program weekends.
- Represents the University at local and regional counselor functions.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree and 3 years of admissions experience required
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
- DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State As assigned, some specific programs may require a valid NYS Motor Vehicle License upon hire required
