Pay:** Starting at **$22/hour while training on first shift + $1/hour 2nd shift premium

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a **highly motivated SMT Set-Up Technician** to join our 2nd shift team. This is your opportunity to be part of something bigger — supporting the production of mission-critical products in a clean, collaborative, and quality-driven environment.

The Opportunity: Why This Role Matters

As an **SMT Set-Up Technician** , you’ll be responsible for preparing materials and equipment that keep the surface mount production line running smoothly and efficiently. Your expertise ensures products are built with precision and meet the strictest quality standards — supporting customers who depend on us to get it right every time.

What You’ll Do Day-to-Day

+ Set up and maintain SMT materials, solder paste, feeders, and magazines for production runs

+ Load parts using routers and smart shelf systems

+ Maintain, clean, and store solder paste stencils

+ Monitor and replenish SMT components and floor stock; report low or expired materials

+ Conduct X-ray inspection of returned materials

+ Assist with inventory by counting and stocking new parts

+ Help train and onboard new team members

+ Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area — adhering to all quality and safety procedures

What You Bring to the Team

Required:

+ High school diploma or equivalent

+ **Experience in SMT set-up** and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment

+ Ability to **read blueprints** and follow written/oral instructions

+ Comfortable performing tasks with repetitive motion, standing for long periods, and working around chemicals

+ Strong attention to detail and ability to work with microscopes

+ Must pass a visual acuity test (20/20 corrected) and standard color vision exam

Preferred:

+ J-STD & IPC-610 certification (or willingness to earn it)

+ Experience programming SMT equipment

+ Familiarity with microscope soldering and electronics inspection tools

**Pay Details:** $22.00 to $23.00 per hour
