THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON BID AWARD
The **Parking and Lot Attendant** shall perform daily activities in a parking garage/lot and checking vehicles in and out of lot following policies and other guidelines.
Responsibilities
+ Provide attendant assisted stacked parking when self-parking spaces in the Southwest Garage are fully occupied. (Lot/Garages typically fill between 9am and 10am).
+ Monitor the parking capacity and provide appropriate signs (directional and advisory) as needed to direct and inform motorists to available parking spaces on Campus (e.g. Lot Full signs at garage entrances).
+ Ensure that FDA employees’ and FDA contractor’s vehicles are accessible to employees with an average wait time of 5 minutes from the time of being notified by an employee that assistance is required to access their vehicle.
+ Provide secure storage for keys of vehicles that are blocking access to other vehicles and ensure that vehicles are locked and secure.
+ Provide special handling of access information or proximity keys for vehicles that have keyless ignition and where the standard key lock system will not work.
+ Verify the identity of the vehicle owner via claim check or similar process prior to releasing keys to the employee.
+ Provide after-hours key retrieval for drivers who do not retrieve keys from parking structures prior to end of normal attendant-assisted parking service hours
+ Provide parking related signage on Streets and Parking Facilities: The contractor will be responsible for implementing a parking signage plan. Parking signage should include lot number and indicate availability of parking in other contractor managed locations on the campus.
+ Provide parking-related signage at Parking Booths: Parking related signage at parking booths should visibly display the booth number, informational signage at the booth is to include the FDA’s COR telephone number and email address for customer comments.
+ Inspect all parking areas for hazards
+ Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
+ High School graduate or GED.
+ Valid driver’s license
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
+ Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
+ Ability to drive a vehicle with a manual transmission.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
