    Budget Title: Senior Staff Assistant (SL-3)

     

    Salary: $55,151 - $60,000

     

    The Curriculum Coordinator supports Binghamton University's undergraduate curriculum and general education initiatives. This position coordinates the General Education proposal process, communicates with academic departments and faculty, manages the university's official catalog content (Binghamton's Academic Guide), and offers technical support and training for various system tools.

    Duties will include, but are not limited to:

    + Oversee the General Education proposal process, including reviewing submissions for completeness and accuracy.

    + Communicate with faculty regarding proposal status, revisions, and next steps.

    + Create and distribute agendas for the University Undergraduate Curriculum Committee (UUCC).

    + Coordinate with Course Building and Academic Space Management to apply approved designations in Banner.

    + Provide general support and guidance related to General Education policies and procedures.

    + Communicate with departments about current designations and procedures for proposing or renewing temporary designations.

    + Maintain and update communication tools, including curriculum forms, web content, and instructional resources.

    + Respond to inquiries sent to [email protected] and [email protected], escalate as needed.

    + Manage production timelines for the Academic Guide, coordinating with departments to meet deadlines.

    + Provide training on the catalog software for departmental users.

    + Assist with developing and maintaining new program pages, ensuring alignment with university templates and standards.

    + Update associated communication tools, including catalog forms, website content, and user guides.

    + Collaborate with departments to maintain up-to-date content and timelines for the Faculty-Staff Handbook.

    + Offer training sessions for handbook editing and publication using the catalog and curriculum software.

    Job Requirements:

    + Bachelor's degree

    + Experience managing multiple tasks and timelines with attention to detail

    + Experience with web-based platforms and standard office software

    + Experience collaborating with faculty, staff, and/or administration

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    Preferred:

    + Experience with curriculum development or academic policy administration

    + Experience with Modern Campus (formerly DIGARC) software, Banner, or similar academic systems

    + Experience in higher education or university administration
