Summary: Promotes patient, family, staff and community empowerment through education. Provides comprehensive patient and family education for those being treated at UNC Health Care. The individual assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the most current and cost effective educational materials, programs, and processes for patients and families. Provides educational tools and develops programs.
Responsibilities:
1. Coordination of patient education materials. Inclusive of development, design, content accuracy and distribution in print, video an electronic formats.
2. Provision of staff education sessions on Patient Education strategies.
3. Regulatory compliance with Patient Education standards inclusive of documentation preparation and PI auditing.

Education Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in nursing required. Master's Degree preferred.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina. Certification in area of specialty required upon meeting eligibility.
Professional Experience Requirements:
• Five (5) years of nursing experience.
