Job Duties
Contacts representatives of government, business, associations, and social groups to promote business for the hotel. Promotes awareness of brand image internally and externally. Gathers materials and assembles information packages (e.g., brochures, promotional materials). Uses sales techniques that maximize revenue while maintaining existing guest loyalty. Answers guest questions about property facilities/services (e.g., hours of operation, rates and room types, packages, promotions, entertainment, restaurants, special events). Drives revenue with outside and inside sales initiatives. Reviews information on sales meetings, conventions, training classes, overnight travel, and other functions held by organization members to select prospective guests for hotel services. Calls on prospects to solicit business, analyzes requirements of function, outlines available hotel facilities and services offered, and quotes prices. Verifies reservations by letter, or draws up contract and obtains signatures. Performs other related duties as assigned. Promotes superior guest service. Has the ability to extend complementary services in accordance with the approved comp matrix.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of two years of previous sales experience with a successful track record. Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record. College degree preferred. Must possess knowledge of banquet functions and have hotel catering experience. Must possess experience with Delphi sales and catering software. Outstanding organizational skills required as well as strong written and verbal skills. Must have excellent computer skills. Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours. Must be capable of interacting with the public in a highly professional manner, including frequent public speaking.
