Job Overview
The Population Health Analytics Data Analyst is responsible for data analysis and reporting as well as the review, assessment, validation, and development of data management processes to support Fairview’s health initiatives. This role will work in a team environment to provide requirements for design, development, and execution of data transformation into information that is actionable. The Analyst will ensure state-of-the-art quality and population-focused analysis and reporting on quality, risk, utilization, cost, and clinical measures through the use of, but not limited to, regulatory specifications, benchmarking, trending, opportunity analysis, and predictive modeling.
This data analyst will be a part of the Population Health Analytics and Technology team. The focus will be on value-based care contracts and analyzing payer reported trends along with clinical and billing data to understand areas of opportunity for reducing total cost of care and improving quality of care. Analyses will include providing data to understand financial impact of meeting key performance indicator goals and developing data visualizations to show effectiveness of project work and interventions. Technical application support may include the Epic applications of Healthy Planet and Compass Rose as well as supporting our Epic users with Epic registries, Cogito tools, and claims ingestion.
Job Expectations:
+ Collaborates with patient teams and leadership to design analytic reports for quality reporting and population health management using electronic medical record data, claims and other data sources.
+ Builds requirements for, develops, and validates reports, data analysis, statistics, predictive modeling and external data submissions.
+ Work directly with and learn from Health Information Report Writers, Data Modelers and/or ETL Developers to build data driven reporting that is significant and useful for the Fairview enterprise, and affiliated networks
+ Analyzes and models data to provide insight and concrete recommendations.
+ Applies appropriate tests to analytical results to deliver high quality and accurate results.
+ Directly assists in the review process of data sent to Fairview by external vendors and data sent by Fairview to external vendors. Includes working directly with the external vendors to understand the business rules application to the data extracts.
+ Researches and reviews benchmarking data for comparison, validation and scope. Identifies areas for greatest opportunity for intervention.
+ Builds basic written narrative summaries that outline project purpose, methodology, summary of findings, trends of interest, and opportunities for consideration.
+ Provides technical, analytical, and business mentorship to other team members and other groups within Fairview.
+ Develops innovative ways and ideas, meets challenges with resourcefulness, generates suggestions for improving work, presents ideas and information in a manner that gets others' attention, and engages in learning and developing new skills.

Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree in a Clinical field, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or other quantitative field, or equivalent work experience required
+ 3 - 5 years of experience in analysis of healthcare data and management of healthcare information systems.
+ Results-oriented, strong partnership, problem solving and mediation skills
+ Handles subtle and confidential information, regularly exercises discretion and judgment.
+ Able to think strategically, analyze issues, and develop recommendations.
+ Strong quantitative and analytic skills.
+ Ability to think creatively and work multi-functionally to address problems.
+ Ability to write and present reports and presentations.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Possesses Epic Cogito certification
+ SQL Database query experience
Additional Job Requirements:
Epic Cogito certification/accreditation required within 6 months of employee start date.
One of the following certifications/accreditations required within 18 months of start date:
+ Healthy Planet and Compass Rose Clinical Build **AND** Healthy Planet and Compass Rose Analytics Build
+ Clinical Data Model certification/accreditation (this includes Caboodle **AND** Clarity).

Compensation Disclaimer
The posted pay range is for a 40-hour workweek (1.0 FTE). The actual rate of pay offered within this range may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions.
